Ehrler’s Instincts, Focus Pay Off On Tough Red River
Brent Ehrler just wrapped up a 30th-place finish in the FLW Tour Open on the Potomac River after a week of practice on Kentucky Lake for a tournament in a few weeks.
The California whiz is part of the road warrior crew traipsing around the country right now on the professional circuits like gypsies. Lipless in the Cold with Brent Ehlrer (AdvancedAngler.com)
January 3,2011
Wintertime can often drive angers batty. The cold water conditions and the frigid air temperatures mean less than ideal conditions for targeting black bass. Frozen hands, frozen line, and frozen bass are enough to make the staunchest bass angler turn to a warm fireplace and a cup of cocoa when their friends discuss going fishing.
Instead of cuddling up with a warm mug and a blanket, stop pouting. Suck in that bottom lip and do what 2006 Forrest Wood Cup Champion Brent Ehrler does.

Spinning and Winning with Team Yamamoto's Brent Ehrler (InsideLine.net)
March 19, 2010
Story by Russ Bassdozer
Team Yamamoto pro and FLW dominator Brent Ehrler has fired his 2010 season off to a red hot start. Brent's won the FLW Western Division season-opener on Lake Shasta, California and he's won the FLW Tour season-opener on Table Rock Lake, Missouri.
As background for today's story, note that Yamamoto baits fished on braided line on a spinning rod were part key to both Brent's wins (as were Lucky Craft hard baits). He was reported to use 5- and 6-inch Senkos (9 & 9L-series) with a nail sinker in the head and a weedless wacky hook in the middle at Shasta; also the same size Senkos on a wacky jig head. It's reported that Brent dropshot at Shasta as well with a Yamamoto 5" Slim Senko and Yamamoto Shad Shaped Worm and other worms.

March 12, 2010
Lucky Craft pro staffer Brent Ehrler of California slammed the door shut on the FLW Tour season-opener last week at Table Rock Lake with a dominating performance, catching 20 bass weighing 69 pounds, 11 ounces.
Ehrler was third after the first day with 16-6 before moving into the lead with his stunning catch of 22-2. He caught that on a Lucky Craft DD 100 jerkbait, including a 6-pounder, and added 14-6 on Friday to make the final day Top 5 cut. Ehrler then put it away with a limit weighing 16-13 to win his first Tour-level tournament since the 2005 Forrest Wood Cup championship.

20 Questions for FLW Pro Brent Ehrler (InsideLine.net)
March 2, 2010
With Chris Jones
Southern Staff Writer
*GaryYamamoto Custom Baits would like to officially welcome Brent Ehrler, currently ranked the fourth angler in the world, as one of our National Pro-Staffers.
Staff Writer Chris Jones sat down with Brent and asked him howhe got started, what he enjoys about his career at this moment, and where he’s headed.
1 Where are you from originally?
Redlands, CA. I’ve lived there my entire life.
2. How did you get started bass fishing?
I have always loved fishing as a kid. Anything that would bite was ok with me. Someone gave me some old Bassmaster Magazines when I was four or five years old. Traveling to Lake Havasu on a family vacation I asked my mom to read an article about "How to Rig and Fish a Plastic Worm". I listened carefully and rigged my rod and reel up with a Texas Rig Plastic worm.

Lure Chat With Brent Ehrler (ArmChair Anglers Podcast)
March 10, 2010
BassFan and Inside Line posted excellent articles covering Brent Ehrler's recent FLW Tour victory at Table Rock Lake. Brent's successful tackle and tactics are covered, including the specific lures he used—namely; the 5-inch Single Tail Grub and Swimming Senko made by Gary Yamamoto Custom Baits, and the Pointer 100 DD and RC 2.5 DD made by Lucky Craft.
What follows is an interview I had with Brent as he was making his long commute back to California.
Bo Crawford (bocraw): I'm looking at this picture Rob Newell took of the lures on your deck. Was the grub the lure you caught the most numbers on?
Brent Ehrler (Ehrler): Yep-the grub is what I caught the good majority of the fish on that I weighed in. Each day a higher percentage of the fish came on the grub. The bigger fish I weighed in all week came on the Lucky Craft stuff. I had a 6 ½ on the jerkbait on the second day. On the third day of the tournament I caught a 5 ½ on the crankbait

2006 Wal-Mart FLW Tour Championship winner Brent Ehrler discusses the cost of hitting the road as a pro, how Western sticks adjust to fisheries farther east, and a hot new color for plastic worms, among other things.
- MODERATOR COMMENT -
Welcome to FLW Live Reel Chat. This week we're joined by Brent Ehrler, the young pro out of Redlands, Calif., who won the 2006 Wal-Mart FLW Tour Championship on Logan Martin Lake in Alabama the first week in August. Ehrler has the distinction of being a two-time FLW Outdoors championship winner after having won the Stren Series Championship in 2004.
- MODERATOR COMMENT -
With seven top-10 finishes and more than $600,000 in winnings in his short pro career, Ehrler is one of the most impressive "young guns" currently fishing in FLW Outdoors circuits. Today the champion is here to take questions from you, the fans. Let's get started.
Q: Hey Brent, for a young angler starting out, how much can they expect to pay for entries, gas, food, motels and etc. for a years worth of FLW events? Would $25K touch it? I'm asking just to give people a sense of how well you have to do just to stay afloat. Congrats again, Brent, and I look forward to seeing you again soon.
